Best Time to Visit Potipot Island (2026 Guide)

Potipot Island in Candelaria, Zambales is a year-round destination, but the experience changes a lot with the seasons. If you are planning a beach trip, here is when to go for the best weather, the clearest water, and the right kind of crowd.

Dry season (November to May) — the best time to visit

The dry season is the ideal time to visit Potipot Island. Skies are clear, the sea is calm, and boat crossings from the Uacon and Sinabacan jump-off points are smooth. Water visibility is at its best for swimming and snorkeling.

  • March to May: peak summer — hottest, busiest, and most festive. Book your Zambales resort early.
  • November to February: cooler mornings, fewer crowds, and gorgeous sunsets — our favourite window.

Rainy season (June to October)

The rainy season brings lush greenery and the lowest rates, but occasional storms can pause boat crossings. If you visit during these months, keep your itinerary flexible and stay somewhere with a comfortable mainland base so a passing shower never ruins the trip.

Weekday vs weekend

For a quieter island and easier bookings, come on a weekday. Weekends and long holidays fill up fast — especially for team building groups and family reunions — so reserve your rooms and boat ahead of time.

Where to stay

Because the island itself has no full resort infrastructure, most travellers stay on the mainland. Potipotgateway Resort sits right by the jump-off point, so you are minutes from the boat launch with air-conditioned rooms, full-board meals, and beach access.
